Bean Boozled!

Well, we did it. We caved in to Roo's wishes and got the Jelly Belly Bean Boozled game. It.Was.HORRIBLE! Roo has been watching YouTube videos for months now about this game and just "had to have it!" So, after a bit of bribery on our part, and serious focus on school work on her part, she earned the game.

Now, I have to clarify, this game is not intended for those with weak stomachs. There are two jelly beans of each color and one is good, the other disgusting! For example, you could pick juicy pear, or Booger; chocolate pudding, or dog food; coconut or baby wipes; and my personal nemesis- black licorice, or Skunk Spray. These flavors may seem fairly harmless, but they were NASTY! Every turn I took, I carefully selected the jelly bean, sniffing, analyzing the spots. It did no good. I got Bean Boozled every.time!

After eating biting into all those nasty flavors, our house started to smell like vomit/skunk spray. We actually had to take the bad ones outside and throw them away. They are quite potent! I am thinking next time we do a family game, it will be a little less smelly.

I will admit, the overall playing of the game was a blast! Hubby joined us so it was a family fun activity. Roo laughed so hard when we all got the nasty flavors and I will admit, I laughed quite a bit also. We had such a great time and the time spent together was priceless.

Starting Anew

I love starting new things! Life is full of beginnings. I am one who loves change. When life gets to complacent, I get bored. I need to rearrange furniture, get a new haircut, start a blog.. Just trying something different… Refreshing, if you will.
One major change we have made in life recently, is that we began homeschooling our little Roo. She isn’t so little these days, being 9 and all. But she will always be my Little Lady. We officially pulled her from public school last fall, and went a year with an online program. A few months in, we realized that was not a good fit for us. After doing much research, we came to the conclusion that we needed to branch off and find something different. We are a bit eclectic with our curriculum this year, mixing in a bit of this, and a little of that. To say that we are jumping in with both feet would be an understatement!
Roo is doing great this year, making up for lost time from last year. I am enjoying every minute I have with her being home. She is truly the best kid ever! (Just my humble opinion of course) I love seeing her little personality shine and watching her light up when she smiles. She is a great example of unconditional love, dedication, and what it’s like to be Christ-like. She is giving, selfless, forgiving, loving, willing to help anyone and everyone.. The list could go on.
Hubby Man is a wonderful role model for my little Roo. He works so hard for our family and provides so I can be a stay-at-home-mother to our daughter. He works all day, then fulfills his church callings to the best of his abilities. On the weekends when he isn’t helping out a neighbor or a widow, he is working hard at home. He is the best wood-worker I know and I love every project he has made for our family.
My days are filled with being a mother and a wife. I do the usual cooking, cleaning (though it’s never ever spotless), teaching, playing, laughing, and all that goes into being me. I so enjoy photography, sewing, crocheting, cross-stitching, reading, cooking, baking, and most of all, spending time with my family.
Our life is filled with ups and downs and we are far from perfect, but it is a swell life, and we wouldn’t have it any other way!
This blog is my way of starting something new. It’s a place where I can share my crafts, recipes, family fun ideas, and anything else that feels share-worthy. Here is to a new beginning!
